1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skora ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("ToS"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Skora provides college admissions guidance, essay review, scholarship matching, and academic planning tools. Our Service includes AI-powered features that provide personalized recommendations based on your profile data.

We strive to provide accurate information but do not guarantee admission outcomes. All admissions decisions are made solely by the colleges and universities. Our Service is a guidance tool only.

3. User Accounts & Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update your account information if changes occur
• Use the Service for lawful purposes only
• Not share your account access with third parties

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

Skora offers the following subscription plans:

• Student Pro ($19/month): Unlimited AI essay scoring, AI chat counselor, save essays, full dashboard, application tracker, scholarship finder
• Counselor Starter ($49/month): Up to 15 students, essay reviews, dashboard, action queue
• Counselor Growth ($99/month): Up to 40 students, everything in Starter, white label portal
• Counselor Agency ($199/month): Unlimited students, everything in Growth, custom subdomain, dedicated support

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew until canceled. You may cancel anytime through your account settings or by contacting support.

Refunds: Contact support to request a refund. We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

Payment Failures: If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry. If payment cannot be processed after 3 attempts, your subscription will be downgraded to Free plan.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by Skora and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

6. User-Generated Content

You retain all rights to the essays and content you submit. By submitting content to Skora, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use, store, and analyze your content to provide our Services. We will not share your essays with third parties except as necessary to provide our Services (e.g., with your assigned counselor).

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Skora does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

8. Limitation of Liability

Skora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to Skora in the past 12 months.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these ToS or is harmful to other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
