Penn Supplemental Essay Prompts 2026-27 + How to Answer Them

A typical applicant writes three prompts of 50 to 200 words: two required of everyone plus one set by the undergraduate school. Specialized dual-degree programs add their own essays. Every prompt below is quoted from Penn Admissions and verified against it on September 26, 2026.

Application: Common App or Coalition (Penn writing supplement). Requirements can change during the cycle; Penn's application portal is the final word on what to submit.
